So, I'm a little embarrassed to even write this, but hey, good writers can get past that. So don't make fun of me.
Last night I went to a party with a few friends. One of those friends introduced me to his frat brother, who we'll just call Jack, for the sake of being nice.
Jack was funny and smart. He was studying chemistry and physics and hates anything that has to do with humanities- so basically, my opposite. I told him how I'm struggling even in my "fake" science class, and he confessed he probably wouldn't do too much better in a "fake" humanities class. I thought that was kind of sweet, and decided he was worth a few more minutes of my time.
We talked a bit and joked about my 80s style t-shirt. I spent most of the time laughing and straining to hear him over the sound of hip hop music. We danced a little and he even lifted me up to see something across the river, which I was definitely not expecting. He seemed genuinely interested, until he pointed to his half empty cup and sheepishly explained "I have to go to the bathroom."
I smiled and he walked away. He never came back. But why did he leave?
